David Wald is a Partner in Charge of international transactions and Partnerships at Shield Associates. He is an experienced international lawyer working in Rwanda’s commercial/ corporate law sector, and with expertise in legal issues of modern slavery, human trafficking and related crimes, and immigration law.
He has worked with the world’s largest and most influential organizations in the sector particularly in the UK, USA, East Africa, and the Horn of Africa regions. With a proven track record in organizational strategic management and establishing relationships with high level government leaders and developing private sector partnerships, Mr. Wald has brought a wealth of experience and networks to benefits the firm’s international and local clients. Notable clients in his field of expertise include the Woolf Group, led by Bill Woolf, former Whitehouse (USA) advisor on and lead strategist on Human Trafficking, and former Director of the Office of Victims of Crimes to name a few.
He has a strong background in training, curricula design and delivery across multiple domains in the development sector, with focus on the justice sector. Mr. Wald is a member of the Rwanda Bar Association and the East Africa Law Society. He holds a law degree from Leeds UK, a Masters’ degree in Psychology from the University of Sheffield and a Bachelor’s degree in music Studies from Leeds.
